Juniors
We welcome junior archers to our club from the age of 11. Junior archers need to attend a beginners’ course before they can start shooting alongside our club members, both indoors and outdoors.
Our junior archers are the future of our club and can participate in all club activities. They can pursue progress badges, attend competitions, or simply shoot for fun.
Archery requires concentration and enough strength to pull a bow. Juniors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or carer at our club, courses, and competitions, and we love it when parents learn too!
ArcheryGB has aligned with World Archery in using the year of birth rather than the day of birth. This means that you remain in an age group until December 31 of the year of that birthday, regardless of when it falls within the year:
You can compete in the Under 12 category right through to the end of the calendar year containing your 11th birthday.
You can compete in the Under 14 category right through to the end of the calendar year containing your 13th birthday.
You can compete in the Under 15 category right through to the end of the calendar year containing your 14th birthday.
You can compete in the Under 16 category right through to the end of the calendar year containing your 15th birthday.
You can compete in the Under 18 category right through to the end of the calendar year containing your 17th birthday.
You can compete in the Under 21 category right through to the end of the calendar year containing your 20th birthday.
