Transporting your bow
Bows and arrows are not prohibited weapons within UK law, you don’t need a license and you can legally purchase archery equipment without any restrictions.
To avoid your bow being perceived as a weapon under the Prevention of Crime Act 1953, always transport your bows concealed in carry cases. It’s also advisable to remove the string from the bow during transport, as this shows authorities that your equipment is not ready for use. Ensure your arrows are stored separately from your bow, such as in an arrow tube.
We recommend that you always carry your AGB membership card, as it serves not only as proof of insurance but also demonstrates your intention to own the bow.
